Jennifer Lopez has a new project:
designing lingerie.
"Jennifer's femininity
and signature style have made her a fashion icon and we are
confident that JLO Lingerie will bring some new excitement
to intimate apparel," Joe Gromek, president and chief
executive officer of The Warnaco Group, said in a statement.
Jennifer has an exclusive
global deal with Warnaco to manufacture and sell the collection,
which will include bras, underwear and shapewear. She'll also
make a line of sleepwear and loungewear.
The JLO by Jennifer Lopez
collection will be launched in fall 2004.

The couple want to keep the ceremony, due to take place in
Santa Barbara, California, private and have turned down offers
including a staggering $1.5 million from British celebrity
bible OK! to sell picture rights to the event. An insider
says, 'They've decided not to sell photos, and keep the day
private.' It is believed J.Lo and Ben will release one photo
to the press - in a bid to control the paparazzi frenzy in
the same way Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston did on their wedding
day.

Hilfiger's company is eyeing Sweetface Fashion, the holding
company which owns the 'J.Lo By Jennifer Lopez' clothing line,
in a reported bid to revitalize itself and get out of its
current financial uncertainty. Sweetface is described as young
and promising enough to help boost the Hilfiger label, should
it become Sweetface's parent. Fashion business analysts say
Hilfiger's popularity and sales have peaked and his brand
is too old. Coincidentally, J.Lo's partner in Sweetface is
Andy Hilfiger, brother of Tommy.

The beautiful pair, who are set to marry in the summer, bought
a $27 million mansion near Savannah, Georgia, last month.
As well as boasting astounding views, luxury amenities and
pricey interiors, the home comes equipped with a special added
bonus - a designer nursery with a colorful mural on one wall.
Multitalented J.Lo and Daredevil actor Ben were so pleased
with the room, they decided to leave it just as it is - in
preparation for their own brood. An insider reveals, 'They
were really pleased when they saw the room. They both seemed
to be feeling broody and said they had no plans to remove
the mural, calling it 'perfect'.'

The pair have been keeping tight-lipped about the star-studded
ceremony, now thought to be taking place sometime over the
summer. But Lopez was reportedly keen for Pope John Paul II
to approve the union. According to British tabloid the Daily
Mail, however, the head of the Catholic church has put his
foot down and refused - because her first husband Ojani Noa
would not have their marriage annulled. Although they are
divorced, Noa refused out of spite. He explains, 'She screwed
me out of a decent divorce settlement then fired me as the
manager of her restaurant for no reason, I owe her nothing.'

The purchase prices were not disclosed. The houses, both 10,000
square feet, are newly constructed but designed to look old.
The Big House is an antebellum-style mansion with a columned
veranda connecting two wings. The Oyster House is rustic in
style with hammocks, rocking chairs and picnic tables on the
porches. The 2,300-acre island 35 miles south of Savannah
was bought recently by Atlanta developer E. Wade Shealy for
$16 million and will be developed as a low-density, luxury
community.

If you have any doubts about the motivation behind Jennifer
Lopez's latest CD, skip directly to the fifth track, a pulsing
love ballad called Dear Ben. ''I think God made you for me,''
she croons. ''You will always be/To me, my lust, my love,
my man, my child, my friend and my king.'' Just so we know
how she really feels, J. Lo includes a lengthy homage to this
Ben guy in the liner notes. ''You are my life,'' it reads
in part, ''my sole inspiration for every lyric, every emotion,
every bit of feeling on this record.'' Lopez might as well
have subtitled This Is Me . . . Then ( * * * out of four)
The Ben Affleck (news) Album. The actor who is about to become
her third husband may not be the focus of every song on her
third studio collection, in stores today. But clearly, the
overriding message here is that she's in love with him and
she feels fine. Musically, Lopez channels her bliss into unabashedly
nostalgic pop-soul confections with tangy shells and warm,
sweet fillings. Wistful strings swell under shiny arrangements
on the pining Still and The One. The gently ebullient Always
and Baby I Love U!, which incorporates a plaintive riff from
the Midnight Cowboy theme, also blend old-school vibes with
polished contemporary production. The mood and material flatter
Lopez's pert, delicately pretty vocals, which seem more relaxed
and resonant here than they have on some of her more overtly
gritty hits. Not that happiness has entirely smoothed J. Lo's
edges. She out-sasses guest rapper LL Cool J on the you-done-me-wrong
ditty All I Have and nods to her Bronx roots with convincing
pluck in the breezy hit Jenny From the Block. In fact, as
its title may suggest, This Is Me . . . Then is very much
in keeping with Lopez's previous work in both music and film,
in that it emphasizes that strength and femininity aren't
mutually exclusive assets. The bonus here is the revelation
that even two short-lived marriages and a flurry of tabloid
headlines can't dull a gal's appetite for romance. Ain't love
grand?
Ben Affleck Will Help
Sell J-Lo's Aftershave

Hunky star Ben Affleck will be in the buff in ads to launch
fiance Jennifer Lopez's new aftershave. The Hollywood heart-throb
who stars in the video for J.LO's current single Jenny From
the Block', will appear in the ads when the cologne, called
Man, hits the market early next year. And in news that will
no doubt delight his legions of female fans, the actor will
be featured in the buff in the shower - with necessary areas
covered by steam. A source says, 'Ben had his doubts. But
the reality is there's nothing he wouldn't do for Jennifer
- she's the priority in his life. Jen reckons men will want
to wear her cologne and women will want to drool over the
ads.' Affleck, who is reportedly set to marry Lopez sometime
next year, was recently voted the world's sexiest man by America's
PEOPLE magazine.
Wild Ben and Jen Game

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck received the ultimate gift
when filming wrapped on their romantic comedy 'Jersey Girl'
- their very own full-size arcade game based on them. The
gift came from the film's director Kevin Smith, who handed
the engaged couple a full-size video arcade machine, which
plays a custom-designed game called 'Jen Saves Ben'. Smith
commissioned Powerhouse Animation Studios of Austin, Texas,
to create the simulation, which begins with animated figures
of J.LO and Affleck out on a date. Suddenly, ninjas kidnap
Affleck and Lopez's character kicks into action, displaying
an impressive range of martial arts moves. As she sets out
to rescue Affleck, Lopez fights a bionic Matt Damon and a
ray gun-wielding Smith. The game, which was handed to the
pair on November 9th, even boasts a soundtrack which features
some of J.Lo's music.
