Christina Aguilera Video Recognized By
Gay & Lesbian Alliance

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is recognizing
the singer for using gay and transgender images in the clip directed by
Jonas Ackerlund (Madonna). 'I am delighted to be honored by GLAAD for
the 'Beautiful' music video,' Aguilera said. 'The song 'Beautiful' is
about being or feeling unaccepted for merely being yourself, yet knowing
through any hardships, we are all beautiful despite the differences or
insecurities. My video captures the reality that gay and transgender people
are beautiful, even though prejudice and discrimination against them still
exists.' The clip highlights a diverse group of people discovering their
own inner beauty, including two gay men romantically kissing on a public
bench, and a man slowly transforming himself into a woman. Later in the
video the man can be seen smiling at his feminine image in the mirror.
'Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful' video conveys a powerful message about
self-respect and empowerment,' said Joan M. Garry, GLAAD's executive director.
'At a time when many in the music industry avoid lesbian and gay themes
altogether, or even worse, use defamatory images to appear 'edgy,' Christina's
decision to feature gay and transgender people in her video is a strong
statement of inclusion, affirmation, and acceptance.' The GLAAD Media
Awards honor individuals and projects in the media and entertainment industries
for their fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of the lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender community and the issues that affect their

Get 'Justified And Stripped'

Aguilera said, 'I'm so excited to be touring again and to be on stage
performing for my fans. That's what makes it all worthwhile for me. I'm
really looking forward to working with Justin. We are going to put on
an unbelievable show. Get ready. This is something you don't want to miss.'
Timberlake added, 'I'm looking forward to this tour because it's the first
time I'm touring as a solo artist and the first time I'm getting to perform
songs from my CD, Justified, for my fans. This tour with Christina is
going to allow the fans to see two great concerts in one night.' Stage
design and preliminary set construction for the tour has already started.

Christina Aguilera Speaks To '20/20'

During her sit-down interview with Christopher Cuomo, the singer discusses
her music, family, and the persistent cries from critics that her image
sets a bad example for today's youth. LAUNCH asked Aguilera to comment
on her sexuality, and she said, 'You know, when I'm on stage, I do come
across as a bit sexual sometimes--in the way that I dance, maybe move
my hips, or whatever--but it's all about just being a performer and an
entertainer to me and, you know, my sexuality is a part of that.' The
newsmagazine 20/20, featuring Aguilera, airs Friday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
